‘Before I was a writer, I was everything else.
I never knew I wanted to be a writer. In fact, up until embarrassingly recently, and despite being a devourer of novels, I had never even made the connection that being an author could be a job; that is, until at the peak of my business career, the penny dropped and consequently threw my life upside down.
Now, in hindsight, I can see that I was always headed in this direction, though the path was never clear. My LinkedIn, if I had one, would read like a short story: coffee van (in an old Kombi, before it was cool, thank you very much), insurance sales, app development, branding, classic car dealing, home renovation; the list goes on. Yet somehow, each career choice and pivot led me here, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
My stories are littered with my own life experiences, with more than a little creative salt and pepper sprinkled on top. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
Reach out any time for a yarn.’ Foster Burton
THE HOLLOW
The long awaited 19th century historical thriller by Foster Burton
Southern Queensland, 1888
Squatter Jack Thomas has long dreamt of riches: of a grand house full of servants, and a life of comfort and luxury. So when he finds a nugget of gold on land they don’t yet own, he is faced with a difficult choice: listen to his older brother Bill, and forget he ever found it? Or follow his heart and sell it… and lose everything along the way.
