Interlibrary Loans

An Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service is available for members to obtain information or items from other libraries and information agencies from around Australia. If what you need is not found in our local collection, then we can endeavour to obtain it via Inter-Library Loan. 

Requests are taken in-person at your local branch library.

Charges

Port Macquarie-Hastings

• A  $15 service fee applies for all Inter-Library Loan requests is payable on collection of the item.

Kempsey

• A non-refundable $10 service fee applies for all Inter-Library Loan requests is payable on application.

Service Guidelines

• Core Service: Inter-Library Loan requests are normally processed daily. Supply time for the item varies depending on its availability. Loan periods are set by the lending library. There are no renewals on Inter-Library Loan items. 
• New Items: recently released fiction is not available on Inter-Library Loan, please make a purchase request.
• University Textbooks: Textbooks are often more readily available to studying students via their tertiary institution.
• Historical Books: Many historical books are available through Project Gutenberg online at no cost. Borrowers can access this freely for items published 95+ years ago.
• Limit: only Inter-Library Loan requests per member will be processed at a time.
