3D Printing

The Port Macquarie-Hastings Library provides a 3D Printing service available to the community. We have a Flashforge Guider IIS Printer. Thousands of free downloadable 3D designs can be found at Thingiverse which is a 3D design community for discovering, printing, and sharing 3D models. See the great 3D models created by Thingiverse super users – and share your own!

*Please note this is not a commercial operation. We do not have the capacity to accept bulk orders.*

You must have a current Mid North Coast Library Service library card and printing costs $1 per hour of print time, advised at time of submission. Printed items can be collected from the Tech Desk at Port Macquarie Library.

How to print

Select an object from the Thingiverse.com and we will print it!

  • Go to the Thingiverse website at thingiverse.com
  • Browse Thingiverse to find an object to print
  • Select ‘download file’ or ‘download all files’
  • Open zip file to find required .stl file.
  • Fill out the form below with your details and attach your file!

Please note, you may select a preferred filament colour for your print but availability may vary.

All files will be printed with industry-standard PLA filament unless specified. We offer several fun alternatives but they are limited to certain constraints and will have a longer print time. Your estimate will notify you whether your file is appropriate for the filament type. A display of all our filament types can be viewed in the Port Macquarie Library.

Alternative Filaments include:
eFlex – Flexible filament, cannot print with supports
Bamboo – Wood-feel, cannot print with supports
eSilk – PLA with a shiny effect
Matte – PLA with a matte finish
Marble – PLA with a marble effect

Our maximum print size is 28W x 25D x 30H cm (280mm x 250mm x 300mm OR 11 x 9.8 x 11.8 inches).

Once you have submitted your form we will contact you by email with an estimate of the price. As soon as your print is ready, we will email you with details for collection and payment.

We’ve printed prototypes, phone holders, fidget spinners, spaghetti measurers, drone parts, and much more!

Due to an ongoing issue, 3D prints may have some discolouration and ridges. Please keep this in mind when submitting a request.

Please note: You may experience problems submitting the following form using older versions of Internet Explorer. We recommend the latest versions of Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome web browsers for best performance.
