Spark Discovery Boxes

Spark Discovery Boxes are science kits, designed for ages 3-12 years, that are available for loan from Port Macquarie Hastings Council libraries. Kits include:

• Mini beasts
• Plant science
• Magnets
• Sound and music
• Amazing animals
• Rocks and minerals
• Light and colour
• Life cycles and classifying
• Patterns and classifying

How do the Spark Discovery Boxes work?

• Anyone who is a library member can borrow Spark Discovery Boxes.
• One kit can be borrowed for 3 weeks, and they can be reserved for collection at Port Macquarie, Laurieton, or Wauchope libraries.
• One renewal is allowed per kit.
• All kits must be used with adult supervision and contents should be treated with care.
• Kits must be returned when the library is open and returned to the Front Desk for counting. Customers must wait while library staff check kit pieces against the description on the lid.
• Replacement costs apply for any lost or damaged kit or kit pieces and boxes. If the kit cannot be used because of a missing or broken piece, the cost of the whole kit applies.

Note for Parents

Please return Spark Discovery Boxes in good working condition, i.e. clean, complete, undamaged and in their kit boxes with any labels attached and undamaged.

Parent/Guardian must supervise use of all kits.
