Carers in the Port Macquarie Hastings area are invited to join us for Celebrating Carers: A Community Film Event. A warm, engaging Carers Week program at Port Macquarie Library, featuring two uplifting short films from Bus Stop Films’ award‑winning inclusive filmmaking catalogue. Each film highlights themes of care, connection, disability representation and community, followed by guided discussions to deepen reflection and conversation.

‘What was it like?'(15 minutes) – Eight filmmakers with intellectual disability interview their parents about what it was like when doctors delivered the news of their diagnosis.
‘Dancer’ (13 minutes) – Gerelee, a deaf teenage girl, decides to follow her dreams and audition for a dance company, despite her father’s protest.
Please register for each attendee as spaces are limited.Â
