Please join us for a cozy chat with local author Carolyn Williams at our Wauchope Library on Friday 6th December at 11.00am.
Carolyn Williams was born in the UK, where she trained and worked as a Registered Nurse and Midwife. In 1988 the family left England to make their home in Australia. After retiring from a long and rewarding career in the health sector Carolyn now dedicates her time volunteering for animal rescue organisations. Dearest to her heart are greyhounds, a gentle and noble breed who thrive in loving families.
Carolyn developed her passion for creative writing when she joined Wauchope Friday Writers Group in 2021 and in 2022 saw her first stories in print, in the book Stories Around the Kitchen Table. This was followed by her work included in a second book by the Wauchope Writer’s Group, Poetic Justice, The Faces of Retribution, published in 2023.
The Adventures of Dora: The Runaway Greyhound, was also published in 2023 and was Carolyn’s first children’s book. Dora and the characters in the book were inspired by greyhounds, and the wonderful Greyhound Rescue Organisations that rescue and rehome these beautiful dogs. The book sought to highlight what wonderful companions these noble dogs can become when adopted into loving homes. All proceeds from the book continue to go to a Not-for-Profit Volunteer Greyhound Rescue Organisation.
The Chateau that Cried Tears is Carolyn’s first solo adult fiction novel. It has been three years in the making, and despite life’s road blocks on the way to the book’s completion, Carolyn has enjoyed the journey.
