All library branches will be closed for the King's Birthday Public Holiday on Monday 10 June.

Spaces

Our branches house a variety of community spaces including kid’s play spaces, quiet study areas, reading areas and meeting rooms for hire, both for small and larger groups. Come and join like-minded people to work in the community garden or research your heritage in our Local Studies / Family history room.

A playground for your imagination is the best way to describe a free-to-use facility known as the ‘Imaginarium’ at Port Macquarie Library.

The Portal is a dedicated virtual reality room where members can book to experience high definition virtual reality. Using the Oculus Rift VR headset, users can explore other worlds, swim with sharks, climb mountains, or even walk in space.

Study rooms are available for booking at most libraries and can vary in size from single occupancy to multiple people. Electrical outlets are available for use with mobile devices.

In addition to desks and study spaces with access to power and Wi-Fi, all of our libraries have lounge chairs throughout where you can enjoy your own special reading space.

Mid North Coast Libraries have been host to a number of exhibitions, creating an engaging and informative space to showcase our history, culture and creative endeavour.

Are you aware that Port Macquarie Library has a community garden? If you would like to learn more about gardening, grow some fresh produce and make new friends the Seed ‘n Read community garden might be the place for you.

The Local Studies section of the Port Macquarie Library houses resources that document the historical, architectural, environmental and social development of the Hastings region.

Each of our libraries has an outdoor play space for younger children with different equipment to entertain and stimulate. These spaces are available whenever the libraries are open.
