October 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Wednesday October 7, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
This is an online event only
We invite you to join us for a LIVE online chat with author Kim Hodges and guest Inga Jensen discussing their lived experience of mental illness, destigmatising mental illness, mental health during COVID, and Kim’s memoir Girl Over the Edge.
Kim is an author, mental health advocate, former academic and resides on the north coast of NSW. Kim’s second memoir Girl Over the Edge is her story based on her life experience of mental illness in 2012-2017. The memoir is honest, raw and confronting and treads into territory not yet trodden in memoir writing. Prepare to be stripped bare, as Kim was, as she lived with severe depression, PTSD and general anxiety disorder and then wrote about her experiences of mental illness.
Inga is an advocate for mental illness, a survivor, mother and wife. She is diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD and anxiety as a result of early childhood trauma. For more than 30 years Inga has grappled with a number of mental health diagnosis and by sharing her path to recovery she brings understanding to complex trauma. Her story will spark hope in sufferers in their recovery journey, destigmatise mental illness and educate parents.
