Please join us on Wednesday 20th April at 10.00am in our Port Macquarie Library Meeting Room for an Author Talk with the lovely Desley Polmear.

Desley Polmear was born in Brisbane, Australia and now resides near the seaside town of Port Macquarie, NSW. She involves herself in the artistic culture of the area. Desley has a wonderful love of experiencing life. She has travelled extensively, and has wide ranging interests in the arts, music, theatre, water colour painting, and writing. She brings to life exuberance and fun to her craft.

Desley’s life affirming philosophy has given her an irrepressible joie de vivre. She has been singing since an early age and has fond memories of being in the production of Les Miserables and Jesus Christ Superstar. Desley’s infectious exuberance and intuitive nature is a special gift that she uses with insight when helping others.

Desley is a best selling author and has completed a Murder Mystery Trilogy. The titles of the trilogy are ‘Unlocked Secrets’ ‘Just before Midnight’ and ‘Payback.’ She has written an autobiography of her early years, and has made contributions to other local anthologies. She holds workshops on the art of fiction writing and is a guest speaker at groups, libraries and grassroots writers festivals.

FRACTURED SOULS – about the book

Miriam O’Connor’s father was a hot head and it got him into trouble. She adored him and wondered for years why he abandoned her and her six year old twin siblings after their mother died on her 13th birthday. Where was he? Does he ever think of the family he left behind? Was he still alive? …

But his transgressions, and encounters with people on the wrong side of the law make him afraid to find out. Will Miriam and her siblings find their missing father before he becomes completely lost in the constant dramas of his own making?
