November 5 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Tuesday November 5, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Port Macquarie Library
32 Grant St
Port Macquarie, New South Wales 2444 Australia

Join us for an evening with author Chris Hammer.

Chris Hammer is the author of crime novel Scrublands, an instant bestseller when it was published mid-way through 2018. Scrublands was shortlisted for the ABIA, Indies and NSW Premier’s Award and was recently longlisted for the UK Crime Writers’ Association New Blood Dagger Award for debut crime novels.

We are excited to be part of the launch tour of his new book, Silver, an enthralling and propulsive sequel to the bestselling Scrublands.

Before turning to fiction, Chris was a journalist for more than thirty years, dividing his career between covering Australian federal politics and international affairs. He reported from more than 30 countries on six continents for SBS TV. While in Canberra, his roles included chief political correspondent for The Bulletin, senior writer for The Age and Online Political Editor for Fairfax.

Chris has written two non-fiction books The River (2010) and The Coast (2012), both published by MUP. The River won the ACT Book of the Year Award and was shortlisted for the Walkley Book Award.

Chris has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Charles Sturt University and a master’s degree in international relations from The Australian National University. He lives in Canberra with his wife, Dr Tomoko Akami. The couple have two children.

Offered in collaboration with the delightful Cathy, Manager at Bookface, who will have copies of  Chris Hammer’s new book Silver for sale and signing.
