MNC libraries welcomes parents with small children, people with a disability and people with a vision impairment to use the library.
All our libraries are accessible by wheelchairs, mobility scooters, strollers and buggies and a wheelchair and tri-walker are available for use at Port Macquarie Library upon request. Tri-walkers are available at Wauchope, Kempsey and Laurieton branches.
Each library has a substantial collection of novels and non-fiction in large print and on disc (CD or MP3) which are available for borrowing as well as a vast online catalogue. Handheld magnifiers are available on request at the library front desk.
If you require assistance, library staff can help people with a disability to look at and borrow items in the library.
Home Library Service
For those unable to visit the library due to age, illness or immobility, the Home Library Service maintains a vital connection with all that the library offers. A library staff member will help you select items for reading or listening.

The Reading Writing Hotline was established in 1994 and is Australia’s national telephone referral service for adult literacy and numeracy. Please contact them on 1300 655 506 for information about classes that are close to you, help by mail or computer, finding teachers and other people who can help and websites and books that can help you to learn.
