Disruption to service - June 5th

The library service is undergoing a major software upgrade on Tuesday 5th June. There will be a temporary disruption to the service on Tuesday morning. At this stage we hope to up and running as normal by 11 a.m. All libraries will be open their regular hours, but online services such as the catalogue, ebooks and music downloads will be unavailable for a short period. We apologise for any inconvenience.

New Apps for Freegal

Downloading free music just got easier. Freegal Mobile Applications are now available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for Android. Freegal now has 3 million songs available to download straight to your iPod, iPad or mobile phone. All you need is a library card number. Please note this App does not work on early iPod models. Also when prompted for your zip code type in Australia.

what is a will and why you need one
things to consider when appointing an executor
power of attorney in helping a relative manage their finances
how to make a will or power of attorney
trusts

Watermark Words

Watermark Literary Society in partnership with the Port Macquarie Hastings Library Service are celebratiing the National Year of Reading by holding a special competition.

Residents of the Port Macquarie Hastings LGA are invited to write a childhood memoir in 140 characters or less. The competition will run from April to September 2012 with monthly winners published in the Camden Haven Courier, Port News and Wauchope Gazette. Prizes have been donated by Pan Macmillan, the Plaza Theatre Laurieton and the Friends of the Port Macquarie Library. For further information and an application form visit the Watermark website.
