Kempsey Library Trivia Night!

It is time for you to get your team together for the ‘Open Book’ Trivia Night at Kempsey Library on Saturday 8 November from 6.30pm.  Tables will be set up for teams of 6 at a cost of $5 per person ($30 a table).  If you would like to come but don’t have a team the Library will take names and organise a team for you.

Funds raised from this event will go to the Macleay Home Hospice Service.

While it is an  ‘Open Book’ Trivia night, meaning that you can get a little help with some of your answers from books displayed in the library on the evening, no computers, PAs or internet enabled mobile phones can be used.

A light supper will be provided by Macleay Valley Home Hospice.

For more information about the Open Book Trivia Night or to book your table please phone Kempsey Library on 65663210.  People should arrive around 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Book Sale at PM Library

Don't forget to visit the library on Wednesday for the FOPL booksale. There will be something for everyone from magazines to non-fiction. Money raised from the booksale will help support the Bookstart initative - which provides starter packs to all babies born at Port Base Hospital.

Scholastic BookFLIX

Have you tried our new online service for young readers? Scholastic BookFLIX builds a love of reading and learning into young children. It is a combination of interactive video, read aloud stories and factual information aimed at children who are just learning to read. Try it out now and let us know what you think. Simply click on the link from the catalogue page and enter your library card number.

Box of delights

Just another another day at the office.....

Calm before the storm... Our library manager relaxes before the start of the very successful crazzzzzy day at Port Macquarie Library. Hundreds of children and parents turned up for jumping castle fun, ten-pin bowling and the very popular magic and juggling show. Our last Festival of Stories activity is bound to be a fantastic day, so if you are looking for something fun to do with the children tomorrow head to Dunbogan park for a big, bright Carnivale. Kicking off at 11am there will be stories, craft, singing, Keith the snake man (see our previous blog entry) and much more.
