bees wax wraps workshop @ wauchope

Learn how to make your own beeswax wraps and keep your food fresh and plastic free! Port Macquarie Hastings Council in partnership with MIDWASTE are running a Bees Wax Wraps making workshop at Wauchope Library to teach people how to make, use and care for beeswax wraps and kick the single-use plastic habit while keeping food fresh.

If you want to kick the single-use disposable plastic habit then homemade beeswax wraps are a great alternative. You can use them in the place of cling wrap to cover food and keep it fresh for longer, plus they’re reusable and can easily be refreshed if the wax starts to wear. They can be used for wrapping veggies, sandwiches, baked goods and small snacks or to cover leftovers in the fridge.

Come along to the workshop and learn how to make, use and care for beeswax wraps, $20 Per Person, Includes workshop & 3 wraps to take home.

The Bees Wax Wraps making workshop is at Wauchope Library, Friday 18 May, 10am – 12 noon, 51 High Street. Bookings are essential, Please register and pay at the Midwaste website: http://www.midwaste.org.au/bee-wax-wrap-workshop/

This project is a NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy.

eco cleaning

Eco Cleaning workshops @ Port Macquarie, Wauchope & Laurieton

MIDWASTE in partnership with Port Macquarie Hastings Council are running free Eco Cleaning workshops to teach people how to make safe, effective home cleaning products!

Eco Cleaning is a really easy and effective way to clean your home without harsh chemicals. As our lives become busier it can be really easy to buy brightly coloured cleaning products that promise to clean your home effortlessly in 30 seconds. But sometimes we forget to stop and think what is inside these brightly coloured cleaning products. Some chemical concoctions can be harmful to yourself, your family and pets and our environment. As people rethink what they’re bringing into their homes, they’re looking for greener solutions and Eco Cleaning provides an easy, healthy and cost effective way to reduce chemicals in the home.

The Eco Cleaning workshops are free to attend and you will make your own easy eco cleaning products to take home and get started:
