Awful Library Books

There are literally millions of blogs currently active in the world today. Some are informative, poignant and provocative, while most are self-serving public diaries for people to share their thoughts and vent their frustrations. Occasionally, however, one comes across a blog that is just plain funny. Such is the case for the AwfulLibraryBooks blog. The site attests it is “a collection of public library holdings that we find amusing and maybe questionable for public libraries trying to maintain a current and relevant collection. Contained in this site are actual library holdings”. See some cracking examples below:

Inspired by this, we thought we’d challenge our readers to try and find similar anomalies in our own collection. Think you can find a book on our shelves with ridiculously out-of-date or irrelevant information? Then bring it to our attention. Seen a book with a funny cover? Let us know. The books deemed the best (or worst in this case) will be posted on the blog, and the person who suggested the ultimate winner/loser book will receive a prize (and not the book in question).
